Douglas Hutchings will be at his first plea hearing today November 8 after his arrest in June this year.
Hutchings was arrested at the Maldon Promenade after arranging to meet a child there for sex.
He groomed a child and arranged them to meet him at the park, but was met by seven police officers who surrounded the park and arrested him.
