DC Jonathan Davies Brewin attended Chelmsford Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to arranging to meet a child under the age of 16 for sex after online grooming.
Davis-Brewin was arrested in June at Braintree after he started communicating with one of our investigators. He arrived at the location and was arrested by officers from Braintree CID. He was meant to be on duty at the time of the arrest and used this to try and get away with the offence, but the officers saw the evidence we had against him and took him into custody.
He sent indecent images of himself to someone he thought was a child and then arranged to meet them to have sex. But he didn’t realise that he was actually talking to one of our investigators who arranged his arrest.
He will now be sentenced week commencing 29th January at Chelmsford Crown Court.
