Today October 2 Roland Ford pleaded guilty to two charges and will be sentenced on the 23rd October and will remain in prison until then.
On July 20th Ford arranged to meet who he thought was an underage child for sex, he intended to pick the child up at the Stow Shopping Centre and return to his house in Church Langley with the child. But fortunately the child was a decoy from CSE Interceptors and Ford was met by officers from Essex Police who took him into custody.
Due to Fords previous sexual offences he was also found in breech of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), this meant he was a high risk and was remanded in custody.
As always Ford come up with a lot of excuses, all of what we have heard before for the reasons he committed the offence. Its quite strange how people can become blind to a persons age written in text, forget that it is illegal to have sex with a child and so on, once caught just own up and stop the denial.
He attended court three times before finally pleading guilty to the both offences, he will now be sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court on the 23rd October.
This is a warning for people who think it is ok to meet children, and once caught that you can make all the excuses in the world to try and get away with the offence. Justice will be served and you will end up on the Sex Offenders Register, along with a prison sentence.
